CrashFunction: fly drone squadrons over real terrain
CrashFunction is a multiplayer drone game and a geospatial discovery platform. Players fly virtual drone pads over real USGS 3DEP LiDAR terrain and satellite imagery, discover datasets nobody has opened, claim territory, and fight asynchronous squadron battles over real surveyed places. Two factions, Guardians and Ravagers, contest a map of the actual Earth.
Every discovery opens a real public dataset (Planetary Computer, USGS EPT, Sentinel-2, Landsat, NAIP) and counts toward global coverage. Battles are resolved by a deterministic server engine and replayed as cinematics that can be shared as public pages.
